浅析歌曲在中学英语教学中的运用

[摘要]：英文歌曲是发展学生的综合语言运用能力，树立学习英语信心，体会英语学习乐趣的有效手段之一。重视英文歌曲在高中英语教学中的运用，可以收到良好的教学效果。文章从自身实践经验出发，整理归纳了其中主要的作用。教学英文歌曲，是培养学生良好情感态度的手段，引入话题的有效方法，培养学生文化意识的途径，激发学生学习兴趣的方式，培养学生自主，合作，探究学习的形式，扩大学生词汇的渠道。

[关键词]：歌曲运用   中学英语教学 

积极开发和合理利用课程资源是英语课程实施的重要组成部分。使学生尽可能多地从不同渠道，以不同方式接触和学习英语，亲身感受和直接体验语言和语言运用，是英语教学的特点之一。新课程改革的重点之一是发展学生的综合语言运用能力，使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度，主动思维，提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。现行各种小学以及初中教材都把英语歌曲写进了教材，演演唱唱带进了教室。作为高中新教材的实施者，要做好教材的衔接，也应该把英语歌曲带到英语课堂内外，使学生乐于接触英语歌曲。笔者多年来一直重视英语歌曲在高中教学中的运用。它的作用主要体现在以下几个方面：

一.培养学生良好情感态度的手段之一

营造宽松，民主，和谐的教学氛围，是高中英语教学的原则之一。“学生只

有对自己,对英语，对英语学习以及英语文化有积极大情感，才能保持英语学习的动力并取得成绩。”（《英语课程标准》第23页）关注学生的情感，是新课标给广大教师的教学建议。

教师在面对新生或新班级，第一堂课至关重要，如何在最短的时间内缩小学生和学生，学生和老师之间的距离，消除学生紧张心理，帮助学生建立自信心，让学生和老师团结一致战胜学习和生活上的困难，为师生一起战胜学英语过程中碰到的困难奠定基础。这时老师可以教唱黑人为争取自由权力而团结奋斗的美国歌曲《We shall overcome》:

教师也可以教唱 《you’ never  walk alone》（绝不会孤单）。这是一首美国足球用来鼓励国家队士气而的歌。歌词很有意义。我们可以利用学生对足球的热爱，从而激发学生对英语的热爱。

When you walk through the storm, hold your head up high. And don’t be afraid of the dark, at the end of the storm, there is a golden sky, and the sweet sliver song of the lark. 在教高一英语新教材模块2第二单元The Olympic Games时可以用《To be NO.1》这一首歌来激发学生的竞争意识。歌词很有教育意义，如下，

1.      This is what we’ve worked for all out lives, reaching for the highest goal we

 can . We choose to give it all. When competition calls. Time records the victory in our hearts.

 To be No.1, running like the wind, playing hard, but always playing fair.

教师若不会唱这一些歌曲，就当诗歌与学生们一起朗诵，同样可以达到情感态度培养的目的。

二． 引入话题的有效方法之一

在任务型教学中，引入话题是一个不可忽视的环节。只有以学生的生活经验和兴趣为出发点来设计话题，才是最有效的。而充满优美旋律的英文歌曲往往是不错的选择。例如教师在教高一英语新教材模块1第一单元Friendship 也可以先播放《friends》这一首儿歌。内容如下Roses are red, violets are blue. Glad to know friends like you. A blink in our eyes, a shake with out hands. That’s how we all make friends.

A smile in your face lights up the day. That’s what all Japanese say. A look in your eyes, a touch in my mind, happiness always arise.

When you’re moody I can help you get your troubles off. When you’re happy share it with me. That’s what friends are for.

Lah lah lah lah lah lah lah lah lah lah lah lah. When you’re moody tell me . I can get your trouble off, Lah`````` when you’re happy share it with me and tell me. That’s what friend for.

这首歌浅显易懂，教师可以问What’s the main idea of this song?或 Can you give the title of this song? 学生会回答Friendship, friend, a friend is important ,friends can share your sadness and your happiness等，教师可以顺势引入话题 good friends。

高一英语新教材模块2第四单元Wildlife protection是关于保护野生动物，保护环境的话题，也可以用Jack Mickson 演唱的《heal the world 》来引入话题。教师可先播放音乐，尽可能的让学生听出heal the world, make it a better place for you and for me,问:Have you ever heard this song? Who sang this song? Do you know the title of the song? 然后小组合作讨论Why should we heal the world？导入话题We have only one world, we should protect the world around us, 教师也可以在课中再次让学生欣赏这首歌，设置任务How to make it a better place for you and for me .

三． 培养学生文化意识的途径之一

众所周知，培养学生文化意识，让学生接触和了解英语国家的文化，不仅有利于英语学习，而且有利于培养世界知识，有利于形成跨文化交际能力。英文歌曲，不同程度地反映了英语国家的风土人情、传统习俗、行为规范、价值观念等，具有丰富的文化内涵，无疑是培养学生文化意识的好材料。在教高一英语模块3第一单元Festivals around the world 正好是“春节”——中国最隆重的节日。此时可以再次提及西方最盛大的节日“圣诞节”。或者在高中英语新教材第一册最后几个单元实际碰上圣诞节的时候教一些圣诞歌曲如《Jingle Bells 》 《White Christmas》《Santa Clause Is Coming To Town》《 I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus》等教师可以收集圣诞歌专集，让学生们唱着这些欢快的歌曲，庆祝节日并表达对生活的美好祝愿。

高一英语新教材模块1第一单元《friendship》可以教唱苏格兰民歌《友谊地久天长》（《Auld Lang Syne》）。

Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should old acquaintance be forgot and days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld syne. We’ll take a cup of kindness yet for auld land syne.

四．激发学生学习兴趣的方式之一

学生的学习兴趣直接影响英语学习的效果，而且会影响学生的全面发展。高中学生兴趣广泛而且多变。教师只有不断激发其学习兴趣，才能帮助他们产生自主学习的动力。利用英文歌曲来激发兴趣，确实是一个很好的策略。高一英语新教材模块3第五单元《Canada》时教师就可以教唱关于加拿大红河的一首歌谣《Red River Valley 》歌词如下：From this valley they say you are going, I will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile. For I know you are taking the sunshine that has lighten my pathway a while.

Come and sit by my side if you love me, do not hasten to bid me do, but remember the red river valley. And the one that has love you so true just remember the red river valley and the one who has loved you so true.

英语教师也可以利用学生喜欢看电影的特点，让学生收集并教唱电影主题歌或插曲，因为电影中的插曲是表现其主题，升华其感情的。有许多电影插曲因其影片而走红，也有因影片中的歌曲为人喜欢而使影片闻名的。一首好的电影歌曲，不仅可以为影片锦上添花，还可以在生活中为人们广为传唱。如《珍珠港》里的《There you’ll be 》，《流星花园》里的《perfect moment 》，《人猿泰山》里的《you’ll be in my heart 》等相信学生，大胆让学生来教唱，因为在这些方面他们往往走在老师的前面，给他们以表现自己的机会吧。

五．培养学生自主，合作，探究学习的形式之一

《英语课程标准》倡导自主，合作，探究的学习方式。高一英语新教材模块2第五单元Music正好是音乐的话题，单元里提到了Latin music, American music, African music, Chinese music, pop music, rock music, Jazz,, blues, hip-hop, rap等。教师可以让学生课前分组，按各自的兴趣，自己确定方向，自己选择方法，（采访音乐老师，上网，上图书馆······）。学习结果展示方式也可以自己确定（演唱，专题演讲，音乐欣赏，乐队组建等等）形式多样，生动活泼，课堂气氛活跃，学生在收集材料的过程就是学习的过程。学生展示和汇报道过程就是巩固定过程。人多力量大，资料共享后，学生获得的信息往往比书本上的要大的多。把课堂还给学生，让学生当课堂的主人。

六．扩大学生词汇的渠道之一

有一则Tips里说道：We can learn languages from songs and chants. Some people study better with music on. 确实，唱歌学英语是英语教学活动中常用的一种行之有效的形式，也是一种很好的教学手段。让学生们唱唱，跳跳，做做，既能培养学英语的兴趣，又能学到正确定发音，记忆单词，词组，句型。如在上文有歌词出现代这些歌星（用黑体标明），高一学生就能学到overcome, hand in hand, in peace还有强调词 do, (I do believe), hold one’s head up, on and on, lark, acquaintance, violets, blink , moody, heal hasten, bid.等。

充分利用各种听觉和视觉手段，开发英语教学资源，拓宽学生学习效率，是每一个英语教师的重要任务。英语教师应抓住高中学生酷爱音乐的特点，了解学生最爱的歌曲，收集各种音乐，让自己的学生在快乐中学习语言，在歌声和舞蹈中学习英语，改变“死读书，读死书，读书死”但局面。总之，在高中英语教学中，合理运用英文歌曲，是一项很值得尝试和坚持的工作。
